  • Ignitis Group was awarded ‘A+’ governance rating in the category of large-sized companies.
  • The Group is leading the Good Corporate Governance Index for the fifth year in a row.

Ignitis Group was recognised as the best governed company in the category of large-sized state-owned enterprises in the Good Corporate Governance Index conducted by Governance Coordination Centre (GCC) every year. The corporate governance of the renewable-focused integrated utility was awarded the top rating for the fifth time in a row.

Ignitis Group received the top score in the 2022–2023 Good Corporate Governance Index after evaluating its corporate governance based on three dimensions – transparency, collegial bodies and strategic planning and target achievement. Ignitis Group, same as last year, received the highest possible rating of ‘A+’ in all three of the dimensions in the category of large-sized state-owned enterprises.

“Currently, our company and the entire energy sector are on the path of energy transition, which requires a lot of effort, so it is good to hear that GCC awarded us the highest rating of ‘A+’, which indicates that, while working towards ambitious long-term strategic goals, we ensure the implementation of the highest corporate governance principles,” says Milda Čeplinskienė, Head of Group Strategy at Ignitis Group.

Ignitis Group is highly rated in the GCC report for independence, competences, functions of its collegial bodies and active committees. Ignitis Group also received the highest rating in, among other areas, strategic planning, strategy implementation and monitoring, state-owned company target achievement.

The Good Corporate Governance Index has been conducted since 2012 and is the most widely used tool for measuring the governance quality of state-owned enterprises in Lithuania. GCC states that its objective is to evaluate and measure how the state-owned companies implement the main good corporate governance principles.
