We implement the culture and practice of responsible and sustainably developed business in accordance with the Ignitis Group sustainability policy, which sets out the basic principles of sustainability that apply to all Group companies. Ignitis Group companies implement and maintain modern, globally recognised standards.
Group companies ESO and Ignitis gamyba support the environmental standard ISO 14001:2015. The globally recognised certificate states that companies comply with the essential requirements for the identification, monitoring, management and improvement of environmental aspects. In 2019, 78 % of the energy produced by the Group companies was produced in certified business divisions.
The Group strives to fully ensure the safety and health of employees, paying special attention to working conditions and the quality of the working environment. The updated ISO 45001:2018 standard has been implemented in the group companies ESO and Ignitis gamyba, which replaced the old OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. In 2019, 73% of employees were employed in companies of the Group certified in this standard.
In order to ensure compliance of the activities and processes of the Group companies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Ignitis Group Service Centre is certified according to the ISO 27001:2017 standard. This ensures high-quality and secure information management, enables the implementation of security measures in line with global best practices, and the management of information security risks.
Ignitis Group, the holding company of the Group, seeks to obtain the LST/ISO 37001:2017 Anti-Corruption Management System standard. The standard is planned to be implemented in the second quarter of 2021.
We carry out sustainable activities together with our partners. By participating in the activities of various organisations, we share our experience and learn from others.
In 2016, Ignitis Group expressed its support for the United Nations Global Compact and committed itself to implementing its activities in accordance with the 10 principles of the pact. As a member of the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance (BICG), Ignitis Group contributes to improving the transparency, competitiveness and governance of companies in the Baltic region. Ignitis Group also participates in the activities of the National Lithuanian Energy Association (NLEA) and the Lithuanian Responsible Business Association (LAVA).
In 2019, the Group joined Wind Europe, which unites members of the wind industry in Europe and the world. Group companies developing renewable resource projects participate in the activities of the Lithuanian Wind Power Association and other organisations operating in this field.
In 2018, Vilnius and Kaunas cogeneration power plants joined the confederation uniting European cogeneration power plants CEWEP.
