Ignitis Group joins UN's global mobilization

Ignitis Group, a renewables-focused integrated utility, joins an initiative organised by the United Nations (UN), which encourages millions of people and organisations in the world to take action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The UN's global mobilization #Act4SDGs took place on 15–25 September, during the UN General Assembly, where world leaders gathered to discuss the progress on the SDGs. This initiative was organised to show that people all around the world are committed to take action on the SDGs.

This year the global community came together to mark the mid-way point of the SDG Agenda. The initiative mostly focused on climate, peace and justice, sustainable food systems, gender equality and inclusion.

Ignitis Group is committed to create a sustainable future and contributes to all SDGs with the main focus on five: affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; responsible consumption and production; climate action.

“We are one of the largest organisations in the Baltic states and, together with the other responsible businesses and people in the world, we are taking action on the SDGs. We are working to minimise our impact on the environment and improve the SDGs progress,” said Valentas Neviera, Head of Group Sustainability at Ignitis Group.

Ignitis Group has raised a flag next to its head office in Vilnius, which represents the Sustainable Development Goals and reminds the Group employees and citizens that it is everyone’s responsibility to preserve the planet and every single one of us may contribute to creating a better future.
