ESO replaces LESTO and AB Lietuvos dujos, customer services provided by Gilė

A new company Energijos skirstymo operatorius (ESO) established on the basis of LESTO and AB Lietuvos dujos starts operating on 1 January 2016. ESO will be supplying electricity and natural gas distribution services to more than 1.6 million customers.

'Quite symbolically, ESO established on the basis of LESTO and AB Lietuvos dujos becomes operational as of the first day of the new year. The process of the reorganisation of the two companies was successfully completed, and ESO has smoothly taken over all of their functions. In view of these developments, our customers will not have to take any actions. Our customers may continue using their accounting books, their contracts with LESTO and AB Lietuvos dujos remain in effect, bank codes and payment order templates will not change', says Liudas Liutkevičius, Chairman of the Board and Director General of ESO.

According to the Manager of ESO, by merging the best competences of two companies ESO will seek improving the quality of the services and enhancing the operational efficiency. Due to the merger the operating costs are estimated to decrease by 5 percent, and the annual saving effect will account for EUR 3.6 million.

ESO will consist of five regional divisions – in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai ir Panevėžys. The divisions established in regional centres will coordinate the operations of the dispatcher's stations in the region, plan the repair, development or upgrading of electricity and gas distribution networks.

All customers of ESO will be served at a shared service centre Gilė. Customers are welcome to place inquiries online, payment for the service even more convenient at a self-service website www.manogile.lt, or using a smart app http://www.manogile.lt

Gilė service centres will operate in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Alytus, Marijampolė, Utena and Visaginas. Gilė service centres will operate in the premises of the former customer service centres of LESTO and AB Lietuvos dujos. At these service centres customers will have an opportunity to learn to use the smart app Gilė, and the self-service portal www.manogile.lt.

In other towns, ESO will continue cooperation with the partners – public libraries and AB Lietuvos paštas. The special self-service www.manogile.lt locations will continue operating at the libraries, and at the post offices customers can obtain the electricity payment booklets, or check their electricity consumption readings.

Single short number 1802 operates round the clock for any issues related to electricity or gas. In case of gas leak, call the emergency number 1804.

The merger of LESTO and AB Lietuvos dujos, and the opening of the shared customer service centre is part of the value improvement programme implemented by the State-managed company Lietuvos energija.
