Ignitis Group is developing two modern waste-to-energy cogeneration power plant projects in Vilnius and Kaunas.

Due to the modern efficiencies of the technology used in the projects, the power plants will be positively affecting the competitiveness of the heat and electricity market in the municipalities as well as partially contributing to the solution of local waste management problems.

The project in Vilnius is being built by the group with financial support from the European Union. Upon successful completion of the power plant, the group will look for partners. The Kaunas project is being built in cooperation with Fortum Heat Lietuva, UAB.
