The Ministry of Finance announced a selection for the positions of independent members of AB “Ignitis grupė” Supervisory Board

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, who owns 73.08% of AB “Ignitis grupė” shares, has announced a selection of five independent members of company’s Supervisory Board. The selected candidates will assume the office after the end of term of the current Supervisory Board on 29 August 2021.

The selected candidates will have to be approved in the General Meeting of Shareholders.

The Supervisory Board of Ignitis Group comprises seven members in total: five independent members and two representatives of the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry of Finance will delegate the representatives of the Ministry of Finance for the next term of the company’s Supervisory Board in accordance with the resolution of the Government. 

“We expect that the new members of the Board will strongly contribute to ensuring the further sustainable and subsequently rapid growth. Our goal is that the long-term goals of the Group would be oriented towards increasing the efficiency in the regulated activities, increasing shareholder returns and returns on equity, development of green generation as well as improving environmental, social and good corporate governance practices”, said Gediminas Norkūnas, Deputy Minister of Finance.

The international selection of candidates will be conducted by the agency conducting manager and managing personnel recruitment UAB J. Friisberg and Partners, together with the partners of the network J. Friisberg and Partners International.

The members will be selected according to general expectations and competences established in the profile of competences of the Supervisory Board.

The current independent members of Supervisory Board of Ignitis Group are Darius Daubaras, who is the Supervisory Board Chair and Risk Management and Business Ethics Supervision Committee Member, Daiva Lubinskaitė-Trainauskienė, who is heading the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Andrius Pranckevičius, Risk Management and Business Ethics Supervision Committee Chair, as well as Bent Christensen and Judith Buss who both have experience in global energy sector companies.

The representatives of the Ministry of Finance in the Supervisory Board are Daiva Kamarauskienė, Nomination and Remuneration Committee Member, and Aušra Vičkačkienė, a Member of Audit as well as Nomination and Remuneration Committees.
